Blue Oaks is a Sacramento based indie rock band led by songwriter, producer Brendan Stone. Since forming in 2007, the project has continually evolved, expanding from its early folk and blues roots into a richly textured sound that blends psych rock, post-punk, dream pop, and alternative genres. The result is music that is both atmospheric and deeply personal. Equal parts grit, melody, and emotional weight.
Following the release of their self-titled album and a series of live recordings, Blue Oaks embraced a new creative direction during the pandemic, writing and producing music independently from their home studio. This period sparked the creation of Holding, a new EP set for release in 2026. The band's recent singles "Light," "Bloom," and "Rose Coloured Dreams" offer a preview of the record, showcasing a broader sonic palette filled with shimmering guitars, layered production, and introspective songwriting while retaining the raw honesty that has always defined the band.
